How do I say, "run throughout their relationship"?

need a bit more of the sentence then that. German works quite differently to English. 4 words are not enough to give context.

It would be Geheimnisse rather than Lügen, I think.

Geheimnisse not Lûgen.
I would also maybe go with "Geheimnisse jagen durch die Beziehung.
Depends really how dramatic the context is.
