My son has just got a cheque from a relative for his birthday. We go to Oz next month and wanted to pay it in there seen as we have closed his UK bank account. Can we do this?

I think it is possible but takes some time to clear. ( a couple of months i think)

You will probably also get hit with a conversion fee. Probably best to check with the bank first.

yes - costs around 10 dollars to do it and takes some time to clear. We do it with the dds all the time.

Yes, you can. But you will pay a fee to transfere it to Oz $ & it takes around 28 days to clear.
