Berlin with toddler and a baby

During my mat leave we will be in Berlin for a few months with my active toddler and baby. Dh will be working. I'm getting nervous about being home full time with both children (dc1 currently does a few mornings a week at nursery and loves it). I don't speak German, have been trying with duolingo since we decided to go bit you can imagine how well that's going with a newborn and a toddler going through a 'challenging' time.
If anyone has any advice about activities we can do during the day I would be very grateful. Are there playgroups? I don't really mind not being able to talk easily to other parents (although would be lovely to meet English speaking parents to chat to, I know it will be too short a time period to make friends) but dc1 loves activity and being around other kids.
Also I'm wondering if it would be possible to find a nanny/babysitter who could help out a few hours a week with one child, probably a long shot. I would be around as well.
I've heard public transport is good. Is it manageable with a double buggy?

There's a Facebook group for expats which you could try for people to socialise with and English speaking playgroups. Public transport is excellent but might need some planning with a double buggy.
