Anyone live in Tervuren?

We might be moving to Tervuren and want to send our child to a local maternelle when she turns 2.5 (I they are not called that in the Flemish neighbourhoods - but basically a non fee paying her preschool!)

Does anyone do this? I'd love a bit of advice.

Thanks

Hi OTB, I've added you to our fb group so you'll be able to ask questions over there!

Worth noting on the renting front, that the option for the bank to 'block' your deposit (by paying them a fee, they guarantee the deposit, so you didn't actually pay it up front) has ended; you now have to put cash into an account. What is more, it is about to change from 2 to 3 months rent - and Tervuren can be expensive rental wise.

Unless you are out here with the Forces, or the FCO, renting can be a daunting prospect...she says looking at the stacks of boxes as the landlord wants his house back as he has been moved back to Brussels!.

Waves to scary. Where are you off to?

We used to live in Leefdaal, a village very close to Tervuren. I'd be happy to answer any questions.

We initially put DD in kindergarten at a local school as they had other English-speaking kids there, but she didn't settle so we put her in nursery and reception at British Primary in Vossem, now called St Paul's, I believe. It was wonderful!

Longtime, waves back. Where Rapunzel says she used to live, in a lovely old house behind the church. We are renting both houses for a month, as it's cheaper than doing a fully packed move and it's only 6.6 kms between houses. Dh begins travelling again for work in October, so although we have til January to move, I plan to be in the new house from mid September.

The boy got a First (yay), and is going back to do his MA this autumn.
