Hi there!
I'm not actually a mum (am I allowed to be here? awkward) but my cousin lives in Australia and has a little girl about 4 years old. I've been told that she's been learning about all the countries of the world in Kindergarten including Scotland. I was wanting to send a box of Scottish-themed gifts for her birthday. So far I've got a Katie Morag story book, a Loch Ness Monster story book, a wee Highland Cow stuffed toy, some Scottish tablet for her to try and a tea towel with a map of Scotland on it for her mum. I was wondering if anybody had any ideas for other gifts I could give? I thought maybe a tartan recipe book with my gran's recipes for shortbread etc might be a cool idea but unsure. If there's any Scotland-to-Australia migrants out there would be really cool to hear what you think your kids would like.
Also I know she loves unicorns and as the unicorn is Scotland's national animal I thought I could do something with that but not sure what. Let me know what you think :)

A wee Saltire flag to take into kindergarten and if you really want to go all out, a girl's kilt for her in either a tartan linked to her family name (if they have a name with Scottish roots - it's surprising how many of my American friends do!), your family tartan or even a lovely generic one like the purple Heritage of Scotland. They're usually about £17-£20 online.
