New York Mums

Are there any mumsnetters living in New York? I moved a couple of months ago and have just seen my first dog riding in a Bugaboo!! Would be great to hear from other 'Mums' on the Upper East Side.

I'm not in NYC (much further south) but we did get the chance to visit and everyone, and I mean everyone had a bugaboo! I felt very smug because we got lots of people staring and commenting at our ordinary maclaren stroller because we had a buggy board attached to it with my 3yo son riding on it. The bugaboo is just so common! Didn't see any dogs in them mind, they are just crazy these americans aren't they? Hope you find some NYC Mums soon!

Hi MIM, we are in New York State but live out in the 'burbs in Westchester (dh works in Manhattan though). We have been here for 6 months now (of a 2/3 year contract). We lived in an apartment in Battery Park for 6 weeks when we first arrived and noticed all the bugaboos too, but there aren't so many out here in the 'burbs as the footpaths are so potholed that you need a 3-wheeler if you walk at all!

Just wanted to say hello - I'm in Scotland now but originally from NY - the 'burbs in Rockland (right next to Westchester).

I go back to visit once or twice a year but to be honest I'm glad I live here now - dogs in buggies, WTF???

Still, I can't walk to the corner for a bulging hot pastrami sandwich on soft rye bread...mmmmmmmm.

I still have some friends in the NY area (mostly Westchester) but none in the city anymore. How are you finding it?
