Jewellery Insurance abroad

Does anyone know of an insurance company who will insure jewellery even though we're not UK residents? The local companies won't insure jewellery that wasn't bought in the country...
TIA

Oooooh I was wondering the exact same thing.....

Where are you living? Each time I've just had to get it appraised locally and then added to local insurance

Here is one you could try, US based

Yes local insurance. Can't you do it as an extension of your policy.
Big names like axa etc... have standard art and jewelry extensions to the main policy.
No one will insure valuables left in a partially occupied/unoccupied property if your valuables are in the UK and its not your primary residence.

I mean you can do it as an extension!

ApricotExpat · 11/08/2016 17:04

Could do the extension thing when we were living in HK, but now we're in Switzerland we can't.

I'd looked at Clements, and they will only insure jewellery up to a value of $10,000. (We don't have a vast amount, but it's more than that...)

Zurich Insurance have told me that they will only insure jewellery that has been appraised in the country and it has to have been bought here... Which doesn't help either!

First world problems, I know... but ...

Any other ideas? Thanks!
