It's highly likely we'll be living in Lantau from Jan and I'm looking into places for DD1 (who'll just have turned 9) and DD2 (who'll be almost 7) at those schools. Would love thoughts from anyone with direct experience of any of those?

Also thoughts on living in Lantau generally?

Thanks v much

I haven't lived in Lantau myself but have family who do.

DB ( Disco Bay) is extremely family orientated, friendly and really easy going compared to the rest of HK.

Before going into detail about what DB is like, have you been there, Lantau or HK before?

I can ask family there for you about schools you mentioned but don't have any first hand knowledge myself as left HK before I had my family.

I have met some lovely people who teach at DB International School and families of children who attend etc, but no direct info I could pass on. I will ask family who live there though.

When do you think you'll be moving? I think you may get some good responses from the DB forum if you post there!

This thread came up in google search but is 7 years ago!!!

You could look for the HK forums such as DB bay forum and HK asia expat which may help.

...and children. Nice piazza with cafes and restaurants and a beach. It is safe and contained and very user friendly for newcommers. Few local families though.

Yes definitely need to join "Hong Kong Moms" also Facebook group "Hong Kong schools" run by schools consultant Ruth Benny.

You'll definitely get good opinions in Hong Kong moms

Good luck

I had no idea a title for a thread could be so long!

(Not helpful, sorry)

Thanks v much, all, for taking the time to respond. biscuiteer we'd be arriving in Jan. And no, I haven't been to HK or Lantau but DH did a trip recently to scope everything out.

Thanks for the FB group tip. My only reservation at this stage is the no-one knows we're moving yet and I'm not sure if it'll be visible on my profile (am friends with people at work etc) but as soon as we go public I will join.
