Work in Thailand for 'dependent' spouse

Realise there are a few Thai-based Mumsnetters and many others who have experience of SE Asia, so hoping you'll be able to offer some advice.

My other half is degree educated but is not a teacher. When we first arrived in Thailand, he was working remotely with his company in our home country but has since been made redundant. So he's now in the situation of being a dependent and unemployed spouse.

Any ideas (he already volunteers at our school with supporting reading and extra-curricular activities - looking more for an income opportunity)? We both agree he is not suited to teaching, even TEFL for adults!!

TIA :-)

What did he do previously? What are his skills? Does his previous employer have any contacts in bkk?

He works in the Property/Construction industry and has been Commercial Director of most recent business for over a decade. Highly skilled in finance/engineering/project management but worked for very specialist UK company. Lots of transferable skills though.
No existing contacts in Bangkok.
