Hong Kong - tampons

We are moving to HK from Jersey next month for a couple of years and I have just been told by someone there that it is hard to find tampons. Is this right? Do I need to stock up before we move?

Thank you. Any feedback welcome and also any other things that I need to know.

Mooncup!

How many tampons would you need for a couple of years? 24 large boxes as least?

My husband will have to stock up when he comes back to UK for business as really don't think I can face a mooncup!

I don't know about Hong long but it was really hard to get them in mainland China - and the ones that were available were non-applicator and very expensive. I ended up using reusable pads and a mooncup - and have never gone back to be honest! So much better than tampons!

The German make OB (non-applicator, like Lillets) has been available in chemists and supermarkets since at least the 1980s, and I'm pretty sure tampax as well. Can't imagine they'll have become less available in the last couple of years.

Please please please try a mooncup. They're revolutionary - I haven't had to buy tampons in 5+ years.

I've just looked at the online shopping pages of the two main HK supermarket chains:

Park N Shop sell tampax, OB and natracare organic tampons

Wellcome have the crankiest website I've encountered in a long time and although it has a feminine hygiene page, I couldn't get it to open

Hi, late to this little tampon party, but yes, they are available.
Parknshop def have them.
Watsons in Admiralty/Queensway shopping mall have them too.

Just grab a few boxes when you see them. Never used a mooncup so can't comment there.
If you find yourself living in a relatively local area, you might have to go into town/ more expat area to stock up.

Tip - if you take vitamin pills, def take over as they are super expensive here. eg...Centrum kids multi vits are £5 for 3 boxes of 30 in Sainsbury's. here is more than £10 for one box!

Are all sizes available? I'm not in HK but cannot get the super plus extra I need where I live.

ooh, that's helpful. I've tried technique one and still found it really tight and painful but might try technique 2.

Also, if flow is heavy, isn't the insertion process just terribly messy? Sorry TMI

You can buy pretty much most things in HK...for a price. Tampons not a problem. But concur with a previous poster -
