Emigrating to Canada

DH and I are considering applying for a Canadian visa. It looks like we would be borderline on the skilled visa to be invited to apply.

Has anyone been through the process and been accepted? Did you do it yourself or employ an experienced agency?

Has anyone emigrated and how have you found it? We are looking at Vancouver specifically as that's the part we know best and have friends there ( no family though).

we were sponsored by my dh's company and went on to apply for permanent residence.

PS. Be very aware that Vancouver is extremely expensive
