Hong Kong - 101 Repulse Bay or Parkview?

Moving to HK in August, think big apartment complex like 101 RB or PV would suit us best, at least for first couple of years... Just wondering thoughts on which is best... Also, are rents coming down in HK at the moment? Are advertised rents negotiable?

Thanks for any help!

Tents are cooling have cooled iff a bit in the higher brackets butdevelopments like Pvw & RB hold steady and very much in demand.
Pvw is great but often shrouded in mist and humidity can be a problem whilst RB gets lots of sunshine and across the riad from the beach and the pulse with cafes etc walking distance.
I find the appartments in Pvw of a slightly better quality ( RB has poor sound insulation, older fittings).
There are lots of similar options around. Keep an open mind and sort out the schools first!!!!!!

Second sorting schools first and work from there. Repulse bay traffic is terrible if you find you have to travel far for school. Rents for either of those places will remain high as they are well known expensive blocks. There's also another block in Pofulam that's got great facilities but the name escapes me now.

Lucky you! HK is awesome. (I've just returned).

Bel air in pok fu lam just as popular though but yes slightly lower rents. Very close to Kellet and maybe even better facilities than Pvw & RB

I see from your other thread that you are erring towards HKIS, so Repulse Bay, Deep Water Bay, Shouson Hill or Stanley are great for you.

I wouldn't limit myself to just two buildings. Check out all of the properties that fit your criteria in terms of size, condition, facilities and location and then make a choice.

Personally I'd want something in good condition with nice kitchen/bathrooms (not a given in HK, no matter the price). Then I'd compare building facilities. Then I'd probably choose from the remaining ones within walking distance to either Stanley Town or The Pulse because I ideally like to be able to walk to shops or restaurants.

Don't just limit yourself to two buildings because they are well known.

Hi Mangosteensoda, yes I think hkis is most likely, would you have any suggestions of other buildings? We were brought around different properties last week by a relocation lady, but didn't see others that we loved. Although it was a quick trip with 3 kids including a baby in tow so didn't get to see nearly as much as we would have liked!

Yes definitely like to be able to walk to either of those and love the idea of all the facilities, somewhere where it might be easy to make friends too!

Thank you!!

Pacific view and the manhattan are the main others with full facilities but nearer to stanley/taitam. With shuttle buses though.
