What's it like? We are thinking of moving to Nantes. Do you have any advice or information about Nantes family life? TIA.

I live about 300 kms from Nantes. I only hear good things about it. Great for families. If you must move to France it's a good place to consider. There's a mnetter who lived there until recently whose name I can't recall but may be do a search. She was v friendly and helpful.

If anyone comes across this thread in the future because they are researching Nantes in préparation for moving.... Please do note that I have also found an excellent "Anglo-Saxon" fb group called Knowing Nantes who are really helpful.

I am French and from Nantes (originally as I do not live there currently) and would gladly answer your questions if you want.

I personally think Nantes is a really great city to raise children and grow up in. I am not the biggest fan of my home country but would advice/pick Nantes over Paris any day. ;)

We are about an hour away from Nantes. It is a great city and one which I would be happy to live in.

I live an hour north of Nantes (Vannes) as others have said, it's a terrific city with a lot going for it.
