totally expecting you to tell me to get a life, but dh has just won a tassimo coffee machine, but you need to keep buying T-discs to make the drinks. they sell them in supermarkets and boots in uk, but we are moving to sg in jan and wondered whether it was worth taking it as we dont know if we can buy the t-discs there!

anyone?

or tell me to get lost!.......

turk, I am not in Singapore but grew up there. I can't answer your question but you might have more luck by asking on these sites for expats in Singapore: Singapore Expat and expatsingapore

turkEgyptlets · 22/12/2006 14:55

thanks have posted on expat singapore, but each time i try to look at replies it takes me to a different thread! oh, they need mumsnet tech

When do you go, Egypt? Looks like we are going to Singapore next summer.

oxocube · 23/12/2006 19:20

And don't you think the Singapore Expat site is strange!! I have read some really agressive posts - nothing like Mumsnet

turkEgyptlets · 24/12/2006 08:42

hi! we go in 2 weeks time! yes it is strange. no one knows one another because they tend to use different names each time they post a msg or on a new thread. and if you're not registered , which you dont have to be, you dont need a name. no sort of community spirit at all. i'm staying here!

oh dear. Sorry about that. Can I say that I have never been on those sites but only heard of them?

oxocube · 24/12/2006 12:36

Its not a criticism of you, blueshoes . Its just that there is nothing like the caring 'community' spirit you come to expect when the only chat site you use is Mumsnet! It does have other useful information though re shopping, where to live etc.

Sorry I have just seen this message as I was away over Xmas.

I don't drink coffee so never really look at these things in the supermarkets.

There are a couple of (large) shops here with extensive kitchenware departments and they qould quite likely stock the tassimo, but I suspect the T-discs wouldn't be too widely available.

However, having said that, if you like it, bring it, I haven't regretted bringing anything yet, only regretting leaving some things behind!
