Hi Astrophe - haven't seen you around here for ages!!! We had a fantastic time. I landed in Sydney and thought "I'm home"; people don't think I'm crazy if I make casual conversation with them, it's so clean, so friendly, so absolutely fantastic really. DS1 didn't want to come home (neither did I), DS2 loved it while we were there but is still a bit reluctant, and DD cried our first night back because she wanted to go back to Singapore where we spent three nights on the way back "and live in the hotel" (cute, blonde little girl, got spoilt rotten!). We have found schools for both the boys and pretty much decided where we are going to live (St. Ives - many thanks to Bloss!!). We've decided to sell our house rather than renting it - it goes on the market in January - so it's no going back. We should be going out Easter at the latest so I can't wait. It's really sweet of you to ask - Happy Christmas!

YAY!!! I'm so pleased for you. I used to nanny for a family in St Ives when I was a student - it is lovely there. Did you meet up with Bloss? Did you love the cafes? I'm really, really missing them at the mo. What schools have you chosen (understand if you'd rather not say!)

Wow - Easter! Thats not that far away! I hope your house sells quickly and all goes smoothly for you all.

We have been in the UK for a year now and I finally feel 'settled'. It takes a long time, even if the people are friendly (as they are here in Derby). In the end there is no sustitute for 'history' in friendships, and that just takes time. I guess what I'm trying to say is; I'm sure you will have some tough times in the first year, but it gets better! And it will be well worth it!

I'll meet you at the Reel Cafe in Roseville for a coffee in 2009!

Enjoy you last freezing Christmas for while!

x
Astro
