Hi All. It is looking likely that we will be moving to Singapore in the next 2-3 months. I have a 5 year old son currently in Year 1 and he is my priority. It seems every international school has a crazy long waiting list and I am trying to understand my options. I would be most grateful if any Mums living in Singapore would share their knowledge? How do you get into schools? What are the local schools like? What options are there? etc

Oh.... and how crazy is the humidity?!

Thanks, Emma

There are loads of threads on here about Singapore, try doing a search. Humidity is crazy (although the haze is the problem at the moment) and expats can pick from local schools once all the Singaporeans have their places. Most expats end up at international schools (there are normally schools without waiting lists or short ones too), some employers will pay to push you up the list too.

We left Singapore 2 years ago although dh is there for business now and many of our friends are still there, I'm sure someone will come along with up to date information on school waiting lists.
