New Zealand teachers.... should I come home

circumstances have me plotting my next move.
I currently teach in primary and taught in an intermediate school in New Zealand before coming to England eleven years ago.
It's tough here.... what's it like there? Will I get my life back or will I miss having Europe on my doorstep?

Are you up for an adventure? how about applying to international schools in Asia? Some schools offer decent packages.....closer to home but yet lots of ground to explore....
Am only saying because that is what all my australian/N-Z friends seem to be doing if they can't really make their mind up about going home for good!

It may depend whereabouts in NZ you are returning to. I think some teaching jobs in Auckland get a LOT of applicants. If you're moving somewhere smaller/more rural it may not be as competitive?

From what I know about teaching here (not much, just a couple of friends who are teachers) it's less rigid/less paperwork etcetera here. Still can be v full on, obviously.

If you aren't ready to go all the way home then I'd also suggest Middle East or Asian international school work as a stop gap for a few years. Save some money , enjoy some sun and travel round the region.
