Not sure if we are just being totally unrealistic!
Dh and I lived in Melbourne for 2 years, we just went to see what it was like but never really intended to stay, we always planned to get it out of our system and get married and settle back in the uk.
We came back a year ago, got married and had ds, but the UK no longer feels like home, we both miss the lifestyle we had in oz and I would love ds to have the beaches and outdoor lifestyle while he is growing up.
We have family so close here, pil are 15 minute drive away, my parents are close too and I feel sad that they will miss out on ds growing up and he will miss out on having grandparents close by.
But I can't stay here, we need to have our own lives and I know that we won't stay here forever anyway, but it seems so final.
Please give me some advice.

hi
have been reading this thread with interest, and tears!
we are moving to brisbane in 10 months, we have two children aged 1 and 3 who see their grandparents almost everyday, the thought of taking them away from them is just awful, however you have to do what is right for you, we too cannot stay here, when you have been to oz and seen the other side of life it would be impossible to deny my children that quality, compared to the life we have here, inside for 6 months of the year, the state of the country in general blah blah blah.
Have you tried posting on www.britishexpats.com there are some very supportive people on there, with lots of experience that may help not just yourself, but others posters on this thread.
Good luck with your decision it sounds like the decision is made its just seeing it through!!
