Hi All,

Any MN'ers in Switzerland?

My DH has been offered a position over there, and we're considering all options, but leaning towards him commuting back and forth and us visiting over holidays etc.

Would love to chat to anyone in a similar position or that can give us some guidance on the move, specifically, rental properties, health insurance, low tax cantons etc.

Thank you

Can't give any advice but watching with interest as DH may be offered a position in Lucerne, Switzerland in the not too distant future.

Thank you Darcey.

We're leaning towards DH commuting back and forth.

I read somewhere that there are laws that stipulate the amount of bedrooms required for a family, is this true?

Hey - we have just moved here (week 4), but to the Vaud (lake Geneva area). So far it's been really lovely. You can message me if I can help with anything!

I believe the bit about number of bedrooms is only if you are trying to get someone to join you in the country for a visa- so its to show that this person is really intending to move in with you.

If you are coming from the EU though, none of this will apply.

You could try www.englishforum.ch which is packed with information, just make sure you search before asking a question as they can get a bit snippy if they are asked something over and over again!

Thank you Kitkats, glad to hear you're enjoying it there.

I'll have a look around that forum in the morning x
