What to do with young children in Duisburg/Tervuren

We've just moved to Duisburg, Belgium and my 3 yr old son will be going to BSB in Sept. Just looking for things to do with him between now and then. I have no transport at the moment and am also feeling a bit isolated. I also have a 6 month old baby. Any ideas welcome!

My immediate reaction was don't do it without a car. I guess that is coming?

Thanks both. Car will come but apparently not til after we get the residency card. I might hire one to keep my sanity. I'm looking forward to the whole adventure of being here but a bit daunted at the moment!
