We are soon relocating to Dubai and have been offered admission at Jebel Ali Primary School (JAPS) and Kings School - at Al Barsha branch. We would like to know about any news, feedback, experience on Kings School & Al Barsha in particular, as the new branch is just about to open next month.

Kings school Al Barsha it's not open yet, and most emphatically didn't look like it would be ready by September when I last drove by early August. Having said that, the deal was when Ramadan was over they would throw workers at it 24/7. It is fully staffed and the staff are already working (admin).

Kings Umm Suqeim is excellent although they had extensive teething problems when the senior school opened (now resolved).

JAPS is also a lovely school with an excellent reputation. However it still doesn't have a senior school and it is getting a little shabby. In essence it doesn't have a school for students to move on to.

I have friends who have taught at both JAPS and Kings and both are lovely family friendly places. Either would be good.

The only real decider would be where your DH will be located for work.

Original Kings has excellent reputation and it follows that their new school will also be fab.

Good luck with the move and congratulations on gaining places!!

Worst experience I had when visiting schools at the end of May was attempting to visit/find out about the new Kings Schools. By far the rudest admissions person ever, and it looked no where near as organised and as ready or as professional than other brand new schools due to open. They were also clearly up themselves! Not giving tours because "everything is online and we go on our reputation" is not acceptable.
Needless to say we went elsewhere, where the founding principal actually was willing to MEET us and chat.
Personally, the news on the street (by which I mean restaurant chat!) was that kings will not be ready in time.
