Hamburg: anyone got any

knowledge of good schools? Price of apples? House costs? General standard of living?

There is a possibility we could be moving there. I'd be grateful for any information.

I don't live there so can't help with housing costs etc. But my DP is from Hamburg and we visit at least once a year.

I think it's a lovely city. Clean, feels safe, good public transport, restaurant food and pub prices cheaper than the UK. The small and large lakes in the centre are lovely, as are the numerous canals. It doesn't take long to drive out to a lovely little pub with excellent food and beeer in the countryside by the banks of the Elbe.

Oh and they have the only in-town IKEA!
