International Schools

Hi,
Has anyone used an international school consultancy or similar to provide up to date reports and data on schools when relocating?
Just wondered if anyone knew of such an organisation?

I haven't heard of this but international teachers use the international schools review, could that help? There is a free forum and a paid bit ($20ish annually) where you check out the schools and see what former and current teachers are saying. You get a good sense of what the school's like. Obviously from the other side, but still a useful tool, imo.

Where are you thinking of moving to?

mumster79 · 30/05/2014 10:13

Bangkok in particular. It just seems that international school review is often out of date and, how can I put this, people are always keen to write a bad review and not always so keen to write a good review iyswim.

Not to worry - thanks for your thoughts!!

Good Schools Guide International

If they cover Bangkok, it will be really worth signing up. They do extremely thorough and candid reviews written by people who know their stuff.

Not all schools like them. If they cannot get in to review a school, they poll existing parents and write that up.

I don't know of any other source that would provide the same

Thank you!

I second GSGI (also on unobtanium's recommendation - thank you). I've just subscribed. Think it is €39 and am now wading my way through all the schools where I live. It is so detailed and there are likes to related articles/websites as well. Really helpful.

"links" not likes!

Might be worth asking on the Expat forums

I agree re: expat forums.

The only issue with GSGI is that not all schools are listed, infact some very prominent ones aren't. I'm currently based in Singapore and there are some obvious gaps.
