I love Vietnam but there are times when it drives me nuts!

Malaysia here.
In some ways probably easier than Vietnam but I do have days.........

My friend just moved into a newly rennovated house where the painters didn't take down the old curtains to paint the walls and just painted round them.

Oh and this one from the weekend....

Fatowl, you have summed up SE Asia in a nutshell, I'll remember that anecdote when I start to miss living there.

I am nearly totally blind and speak Vietnamese.... One of reasons why it ge tough is is because of what people say...
When people know I speak Vietnamese, they ask why I udon't go back home to claim $$$$ of benefits and be looked after by mummy... Or other things. When they don't think I understand, they still talk...

Today has been brilliant!

I was interviewed by a journalist about my work this morning and he invited me for a coffee. He then took me to a place where Vietnamese who can't afford otherwise, can get lunch for 2,000 VND (10 cents). They sold 400 meals in about 2 hours! I was invited to have a meal and it was quite nice. I told some street sellers about it, but they couldn't believe meals were only 2,w000 VND...

The only downside to all this is the fact that I had zero sleep last night. I was caught up in good ideas!
