Anyone know about subclass 100 visas for Australia?

Oh is coming up to the two year mark for his partner visa. I cna;t work out if we need to action anything to get the visa changed to subclass 100 so it's permanent or if it's just automatic. The Immi.gov.au website is a bit rubbish just talking though the first part of the process. DS and I are fine as I'm aussie and DS is aussie by decent.

No idea, I got my sub class 100 before we emigrated. Perhaps try ringing Australia House, or ask on pomsinoz, they are very helpful.

Just call dimca to clarify. They will I presume wish to..,
A/ sting you for more money..
B/ make sure you provide proof of ongoing relationship.
C/ give you 98 forms to complete.. A medical... Chest X-ray and blood test...
Wink

We are already here so Australia house might be an expensive call :)

I'll give immigration a call which will likely be an expensive call too! we did all that stuff before the first stage of the visa was granted so I'll really cross if we have to do it again. It just says that it's granted intialy for two years then changes to permanent after two years but nothing about how to make it permanent. We only though of it because OH medicare card is out of date and they want visa proof -which is hard when it's just electronic. Have found an email so hopefully that will do.

With my DH we just emailed our case worker and assuming nothing has changed PR is granted and passport will need to be updated.

Oh that is a good plan. I'll get Oh to email his case worker.

There isn't anything in his passport so wont need to send that off anyway.

OH spoke to immigration today. He doesn't have to anything until just before the 4 years are up. Hooray.

Immigration will send out the forms he needs to fill out when it's time to apply for the perm visa. He'll probably have to fill out Form 60 again and will need a police check done.

There's nothing extra to pay, the temp visa application covers the perm one as well.

So long as you keep immigration up to date with postal and email addresses there's nothing else you need to do.

Oh that is good to hear. thanks.
He had a bit of an issue with medicare this week. They said they wouldn't reissue him with a medicare card. All sorted now but such a pain. particularly seeing as they should have issued him a 4 year card not a temp 1 year one to start with.
