Singapore-Getting clothes made

My boss is off to Singapore in a couple of weeks and asked me, since I've been there a few times, if I knew anything about getting a suit made while she was over there. I have no idea, do any of you lovely Singapore mumsnetters know, or has anyone travelled through and got something made? We're in Australia so shipping wouldn't take too long, not sure of the timescales of these things.

My ex boss came to Singapore when I was living there so I took her to my dad's tailor, Vanda in holland village shopping centre. It took just over a week with a fitting in the middle. She was reasonably happy. My point (which I am getting to) is that it takes a while, costs about the same as off the peg uk high street (my dad pays £35 for a made to measure shirt) and it's a good idea to know what you want. My ex boss literally walked in with a copy of vogue and had Alberta ferretti and Armani suits and dresses copied.

I normally go to Tony the Tailor in Change Alley way at Raffles Place. Not cheap, but good quality - I'm an awkward body shape and this is the first time I've ever had skinny trousers and dresses fit!

Ah, thanks for this, food for thought. Wish I could go with her and get some clothes made, I'm in the middle of back to back stints in the back of beyond here in Australia, a trip to Singapore would be much nicer...
