Green Card

Does anyone know if you have to leave the country when a green card is issued? I think this was the case previously, but with the introduction of USCIS, I don't think it happens anymore and the cards are just mailed to you. We are already in the US and applied for a change of status which has already been approved.

We didn't have to leave - green cards received in 2011, they just turned up in the mail.

Sad Thanks Peppermint. Not what I wanted to hear, but thanks for the info!
