Anyone in Normandy with a digital radio tuned to UK stations?

My mum lives in Basse-Normandie and I'm thinking of getting her a digital radio so she can listen to Radio 4 without the annoying crackle. Only thing is- can you get digital reception in Normandy?

If she has access to an iPad there is an app that picks up all British radio stations called UK radios. No crackle at all!

Or Tune-In radio (for free)- i pick up R4 from 6,000 miles away! No crackle but drops sometimes.

Ah, she doesn't have any internet at home. If she wants to email she goes down to my sister's 50 m away.

Oh I second Tune In radio. I use it all the time. It doesn't drop out for me but we do have an excellent internet connection (not sure if that makes a difference). I listen to local and Uk radio.

Sorry missed the bit about no internet. Could she get a wireless dongle or better still get her an iPad, she can read listen to the radio and send emails. How much would a sim be for an iPad?

I have absolutely no idea because I've never tried (am so far north I've got one toe in the Channel though), but I could ask my parents to bring their digital radio to experiment next time they visit!
