Hi, DH in last bit of sorting out of job in Saudi- hasn't signed contract but can reasonably expect to in next 3weeks. I did post on here looking for advice when the job came up last time , about 2 years ago, but he didn't take it then, in no small part because I dug my heels in. Background is I have lived in the gulf before -Doha / Abu Dhabi / RAK as a child and Saudi had always had a bad reputation in the expat communities then in 1980/90s. My dad who has worked in the gulf for 30 years is very anti us going , but my mum is more pragmatic. I have made the commitment to go now and I feel positive about it and that we can make a go of it. I have a contact there who has been helpful as she lives on the compound we would go to, but she doesn't have kids and is working. We have 2 children 6 and 8 and while I would like to work ( I teach), the company representative seemed to think that would be a problem with the recent Saudi-isation of jobs and the married accompanied visa I would be on. I was hoping to make contact with a few people out there to ask about family life and work etc, and input good or bad welcome!

Cathpot, my SIL and BIL live there. Their DCs are same age as yours. Are you going to be living on a compound if so which one?
