Living in Dubai

Hi, looks like we have the opportunity to live in Dubai for a year or 2, with DH work. I'm wondering what it's like to live there. We've 2 children (9 and 10) who we home ed anyway so they wouldn't need a school.
Any info greatly appreciated! Thanks

Be aware the majority of expat mums and dc leave for the whole of the summer as its too hot, so factor that in to your costs! Ie have somewhere to go- 2 months is a long time at parents or inlaws! You can stay, but you can't go outside, and summer camps are very expensive.
