Looking for help relocating to Netherlands

Hi, myself, DS and DP are relocating to SW Netherlands, well that's the plan anyway but we are struggling to find accommodation Hmm

We have an application lodged with the local housing association and have 'reacted' to ad many properties as possible with still no luck.

My DP has work and DS is enrolled at a school but was wondering if anyone new of any private landlords or any other to find somewhere to live that we don't know about?

The location we are going to is Middelburg, which is in Zeeland province.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Smile

Oh you lucky thing, Middelburg is one of my favourite ever places - well, actually the coast there - Domburg - is absolutely gorgeous! :)

Have you tried www.vesteda.com/nl/woningaanbod.aspx (I see they have an apartment complex there) - not sure if this was the HA you were talking about but worth keeping on your radar. We rented with Vesteda for about 15 months and they were absolutely fantastic. They didn't take a deposit because my salary was "large enough" - they were completely honest and upfront and even gave us a rebate over a year after we moved out - amazing! :)

Also, because it's a massive tourist destination it may well be worth giving the VVV (tourist info) a ring and asking if they know of any holiday lets which might work for you for a short-term winter let. www.vvvzeeland.nl/en/

Googling came up with these sites. I'm not familiar with any of them though - and the first one charges a fee to register with them.

www.directwonen.nl

www.pararius.nl/huurwoningen/Middelburg

www.huislijn.nl/huurwoning/zeeland/middelburg

www.huurwoningen.nl/in/middelburg

Watch out for directwonen - or any of their ilk. We know them as letting agencies! Not only do they charge a fee to "see what they've got", but when you say "yes, I want that one" you have to give them a full month's "finder's fee" on top of your rent in advance + deposit.

It grates rather that you pay some sodding letting agency a month's rent for them to show you some pictures and give you a guided tour. "Yes, this is what we call a kitchen". You're shitting me.
