Holiday in Auckland

We're traveling to Auckland for Chinese New Year...looking for any suggestions about accommodation for family with four children? Serviced apartments/house rental etc?
I think we prefer to have use of a kitchen, so not necessarily a hotel.
Thanks!

Where do you want to be close to? Will you have a car? If so I'd go for a motel outside of the CBD - Greenlane area or Takapuna on the North Shore. Motels will give you the kitchen but at a lower cost than apartments in the CBD. If you'd prefer to be central, then Quest apartments are pretty good.

I don't have particular hotel suggestions (I'm from Auckland, so never stayed in one!), but wanted to say make sure you go to the lantern festival in Albert Park one evening. And try some of the food stalls there, they're great! Have a great time Smile

From memory there are the City Life serviced apartments on Queen Street, AKL which is pretty much as CBD as you get in NZ!! Alternatively if you don't mind being out of the central AKL area you could hire a holiday home also known as a bach, www.bookabach.co.nz should give you some idea of the costs / area's. But you'd probably be a wee distance from all the going's on.
