Moving to bruxelles- anyone in ixelles area??

We will be relocating from Italy to Bruxelles. Husband is already there working and looking for a place to live. We had a look at flats in the ixelle area. having 2 girls aged 4 and 1, we also need to look at schools and nursery as im intending to go to work as soon as possible. I was wondering if there are anyone else living in this area or near by and is this a good area??

Hello Cydra, Brussels is a great place to bring up dc.

I can't offer advice about Ixelles I'm afraid (I'm sure others will be along soon to offer tips, if not now, when they are back from holidays end Aug/beginning Sept) but perhaps as a start have a look at this thread particularly third post from the end about why Ixelles is perhaps not the most family friendly area in which to look.

I wouldn't advise going to Ixelles with children. I lived there as a 22 year old and it was great fun but moved to Woluwe and then Auderghem when we had children. I would read the link suggested.

I wouldn't recommend Ixelles either. Where is your DH working?
