Do European schools have an October 'Half Term' break, and if so, when is it this year?

I know the Feb one seems to be similar across Europe (e.g. crowded ski resorts!) so am just wondering...

Please tell me which country you're in.
Thanks

Here in Berlin we have the first 2 weeks of October which is nice as it usually stays fairly warm til then. In south Germany we didn't have the break till the end of October beginning of November.

In France they are staggered - different regions are off at different times. Sorry, but dont have the dates. Not much help really Blush

In Belgium it's always the week which includes 1st November, which is often later than in neighbouring countries.

In Budapest it's usually mid-October. Not sure of exact dates though.

I'm in Vienna and the schools here can choose when to take various odd days, our school has chosen to lump the days together and have a week off beginning 30 Oct. This also takes in a couple of public holidays that week so you may be ok with the 23rd Oct if you come to Austria - although you know there won't be any snow then!

no half term hols in spain, but there are a few bank hols in October and November, and the schools often do a "bridge" (ie.e if the bank hol falls on a tuesday, they'll close for the monday as well). I can look them up if you like, but think early to mid oct is clear.

the same in Italy

France : this year it will be from 22nd October to 3rd November for every region.

Switzerland is usually the first 2 full weeks of October, give or take a week or so !(can vary by canton and town ...)
