Newspapers and books in English are all I miss in Turkey (but take huge piles with me so don't suffer unduly)

I live in Germany too.
It's against all my principles (I also think that when you live in a country you should live there and not try to cling onto England), but there's an English shop here so I occassionally cheat and buy heinz tomato soup, flavoured crisps, etc..

The 2 big things for me though are Quorn (try being veggie in Germany...) and hairdressers! I still wait for trips back to the UK to have my hair cut (or chop at it myself)

That sounds just like me, I always go to the hairdressers in England -- why are german hairdressers so bad? I always think I must be asking for the wrong thing - even with ds, the only decent cut he ever got was in England! Also shoes, the stuff on offer is really wierd, my sister came to visit and she also found there was nothing to coose from for adult or child. Always try to get kids shoes in UK - trouble is they grow so fast so I can only get one seasons shoes and the next season if I'm not going home they have to suffer the trip round every shoe shop to find a good shoe.
