Go vvv!

And penguin, you are a bloody genius. That is exactly right.

Of course, I have not followed my own advice! I went and got a job after my last project finished. But am trying to enjoy the easy things and not make life so bloody hard for myself.

Frikonastick · 26/07/2013 01:13

Lol! Well, isn't there some rule that you know when advice is really good, is when you don't follow it yourself Grin

Sorry not to reply to all. We have very little internet. Vvv - congrats.
I am loving the island and do not want to go home tomorrow. But if one more person says "four, she looks like she is two" I may slap them.

lollystix · 26/07/2013 05:39

Yay - my first trip to starship. DS1 went thru a glass door as a friends house and we are waiting to be stitched now. Going to be ok but looks awful and the call from the neighbour when I was at work with no info other than - 'he's gone thru a door, come now, we've called an ambulance' was possibly one of the worst moments ever. However we are now drawing Wookies so I think he'll live.

It actually looks and feels just like sick kids in Edinburgh. Waiting to be sedated and stitched now but he's getting bored

Frikonastick · 26/07/2013 09:23

Shock lolly, poor you!! You must have felt sick when you got the call. Bloody hell. Wasn't it safety glass?

saw on another thread ,.M and S have cotton vest tops in their sale for £1. If anyone wants to stock up for next summer. They are stol doing free delivery so I kust got four tops for just under $8 :)

vvviola · 27/07/2013 02:02

Lolly - hope he's doing ok today and it wasn't too long a wait last night.

MIL is up for DD1's birthday. She has progressed from bringing her own sheets, to bringing duvets for the DC and changing the beds Shock. I honestly don't know whether to laugh, cry or shout!

(Justa has seen my place and I'm pretty sure she can testify that it may be a bit messy and chaotic, but you know, kids have clean sheets etc. I may be a pretty rotten housekeeper by my mother's standards, but then my mother has impossible standards....Wink)

lolly hope things are OK today.

giantpenguinmonster · 27/07/2013 06:52

Hope ds1 is okay lolly.

lollystix · 27/07/2013 09:55

DS1 ok. They decided that we needed to get stitched in theatre under general so that happened about 9pm and then we had to stay overnight. Seems the 2 degrees of separation continues in the medical field as all the drs there were British. The one who stiched him went to med school with my brother so that was a bit weird discussing who we had as mutual contacts. She did an amazing job and DS is fine but freaked at home when he saw his face today. 27 stitches in total. He thinks he looks gross and he does look like he's had a brush with Freddie Kruger but I count us as very luck as 1cm deeper and it would have cut his jugular.

Starship were great but slow and stretched.

Was most stressful in that Ds4 had been throwing up night before so 83 hours sleep and DH had flown to Melbounre for work weekend at 4am morning so I was left in hospital with DS1 and thank god DM has moved here as she had to take over form nanny to mind the other 3 and DS4 didn't puke again. She was very stressed this am when I arrived home. DH also very upset - mainly as he wasn't in country to help so flew back in this am. Took flowers round today to the poor mum whose watch it happened on. I think she was in bits last night - I can't imagine how responsible she must have felt but what can one do when a 6 yo decides to run through a ranchslide?

dH brought toblerone home for oz so life is sweet again.

WhatSheSaid · 27/07/2013 10:29

Sheesh, 27 stitches. Poor ds1.

When I had my em c/s all the staff in the operating theatre were British. I kept asking "Have you really all got British accents or am I just on really good drugs?' Blush. When I had my elective c/s I was so busy chatting with the British anaesthetist about late 80s indie bands I didnt even realise dd2 had been born.

Frikonastick · 27/07/2013 10:30

Wow lolly, what a time! So glad DS is ok.

wow, that does sound major.

Likewise re staff, when I had ds1 in the UK all the staff were Aussies and kiwis, when I had ds2 here they were all British!

vvviola · 27/07/2013 21:43

Goodness me lolly. That all does sound rather terrifying! Glad it all worked out (relatively) ok.

Frik - I don't get told these things are happening, the change is just done in my absence. I just tend to bite my lip (and moan to you lot) unless it really bothers me. I can hear her at the moment reorganising DD1's bedroom with her over her objections (and in the process messing up our - very important or we'd never get out of the house - morning routine). I'd usually put a stop to it subtly, but I've been up since 5 with DD2 so I've snuck back to bed and I'm not coming out.

I've already lied to her 3 times this morning about there being washing to hang out as I'm tired of her rummaging around in my stuff. Blush

It's all just an over the top version of being set in her ways... she thinks everyone else should be set in her ways too Hmm

God lolly, that sounds pure hellish.
Poor you guys :(
I would have keeled on the spot too, I think.
I'm not good with emergencies!

Thank god he's ok...1cm?? Phew WineWine

Ds2 got all his fingers trapped in the hinge of a door, last week.
I heard the screams and came running but couldn't get him loose.
Ds1 saw what was happening and fell yo the floor wailing "please help him!"(he's a sensitive soul!)
Thank god dh was in, he prised the door open with a metal rod.

That was bad enough!

Lolly, I would be telling my ils in no uncertain terms I'm afraid!!

I think I told you that when dd was born, they came to visit, they TOOK PHOTOS of my overflowing washing baskets/ironing pile.

This pissed me off no end and I to,d dh to sort them out!!

Hope everyone is well.

We're going to look at a house in a bit.
I love the interior, but it's in bush...it looks very dark...but there's loads of space and it could be 5 beds..what to do what to do??
