Calling HK MN's - Can you suggest a Girls Day out?

Hi,

Not living abroad, but going over to HK with the kids for 3 weeks around Easter (DH is originally from there).
Staying up in the New Territories, but SIL has suggested a girls day out together while we are over there (met her twice).
Anyone got any suggestions? She is very girly, and I'm a bit of a tomboy. Shopping out as very little out there fits me!

Cheers

Take the tram up Victoria Peak. Very exciting.

What about a trip to Shenzhen - it's a fun shopping day out (not really for clothes though unless you want to get something made). Or a trip to one of the hotel spas followed by afternoon tea. Or a trip to one of the many markets (flower market or the Ladies Market) followed by drinks at Ozone?

Would we need a visa for Shenzhen?
I'll be travelling on a UK passport.

Like the idea of a hotel spa. Any recommendations?

Think we'll be taking the kids up Victoria Peak! No way they will let me go on a tram and them stay at Great-Grandma's.

Thanks for the ideas.

You do need a visa to get into Shenzhen but you can get it at the border ( ie at the Lo Wu MTR station) - it costs about 300 RMB for a UK passport holder.

Not been to any of the hotel spas myself but friends have been to Mandarin, Peninsula and Four Seasons. Have a look at this for a few more recommendations - thehkhub.com/i-live-here/pamper/spamassage-2/

Afternoon tea at the ritz Carlton ( don't be tempted by the Penninsula). Foot massage. Sundowners at Greys Cafe or Ozone. Ask your sil if she knows anybody who is a member of The China Club and go for lunch or dinner. Sassy HK is a great resource. Have a great day!
