Oz on a NZ passport

We are currently in NZ and all hold NZ and UK passports. I am pretty certain that we can work in OZ with no problem. Does anybody know however about schooling - whether that would be free for the dss. I have it in the back of my mind that school is OK but Uni would be charged as International Students (although this is a way down the track!)

TIA

Hi I have friends who are in aus on nz passports. They have no problems with school and have reciprocal healthcare. they will apply for aus citizenship in 2 years time and then they have no future issues.

I'm sure you are right re Uni Fees. Unfortunately it seems that the Oz govt is eroding the rights of NZers in Oz. I believe that you need private healthcare and have no access to benefits as a NZer should you need them.

It is a shame as when I lived there we were treated as Aussies in all but name
