Long shot, but full moon baby party?

and presents. DD has been invited to a classmates sister's full moon baby party. I am clueless about whether she should take a present and if she should, is it for the baby or the Mum?
Fortunatley there is a lot of red envelope stuff around because of CNY.
Help.

Its a bit like a christening, a red paquet is fine but am sure a cute present for the baby would be much appreciated.
Basically mother comes out of confinement and the baby is presented to the world.
Dont feed DD before she goes. Its usually a banquet.

No idea about gifts though. I am thinking of a red baby grow. Unfortynately, ours is not a Chinese area, so no shops to ask in.

Have just asked my colleagues at work (in Singapore). Red packet is the norm or vouchers if there is a suitable department type store. There will be lots of food. I've never been to a party but have received lots of boxes full of cakes/red eggs from my colleagues celebrating full moon.

Thanks for that. No suitable shop really, the family are super rich so vouchers would be discarded I think, and I base that solely on DDs comments when the girl in question won an iPad.
Could you ask your colleague whether there is a color that DD should not wear to the party? I am thinking white for some reason.

Well, we went and bought the baby, who has the most peculiarly non chinese name a baby grow. DD chose it, it's darkish blue with a brilliantly bright cupcake on the front.
She is currently making a tag for the expensive ladybird paper bag thing we bought to put the baby grow in.

Brilliant shop. I am going to KL next week with DD. I'll certainly have a look in there for some clothes.
