Expat nannies or child minders in Singapore?

Anyone know any expat nannies or child minders in Singapore?
Full time nurseries, helpers or singaporeon nannies seem like the only childcare options in Singapore from my research.
I currently work 3 full days a week and my 2 and 1/2 year old boy goes to a great pre-school for 3 hours each morning. Currently we have a helper who picks him up from school and plays with him during the afternoon until i get home early evening. We're not entirely happy with the situation for various reasons and would much prefer a child minder or another parent if at all possible.
Any advice out there? Does this exist?
Cheers
Cathy

I have lived in Singapore and am moving back before. To be honest everyone I ever met had a maid from the Philippines or Indonesia that worked 6 days a week for 600-700sgd per month including living with their employer.
If you go out on a DP and can get a letter of consent you might get better work as a TA or helper in a Kindergarten or Early Years part of an International School? Just a thought as I don't think you will find it easy to get reasonable money for FDW type work

Hi Tom,

Thank you for your reply. All stuff to consider, but I have been in touch with some nanny agencies who have said that yes it's a very small market for British nannies but it is possible. The domestic worker pass by rule has to include accommodation.

We can only hope that a suitable job might come up, and if not then we we decide what pass we'll apply for.

Thanks for your help everyone.

Hi there. My daughter Julie is 18 and wants to start her work and travel year in Singapore starting 16. August for three months. She will study to be a grade school teacher upon her return and loves kids. She is looking to live and work in a family for room and board and some pocket money. She can also cook, do laundry, etc. Very kind and responsible. If anybody knows someone who would like to have Julie in their home please let me know at mishe (at) tuesdays.de. She speaks English and German. I will then send photos and an introductory letter she wrote.
