The visa wait????

So we are moving to Australia. My partner has applied for a partner visa it has not yet been granted but we have already booked the tickets. From a recent email from Govt. It looks like OH visa will be granted about 10 before we are due to fly out.

I think that we should still just plan to go on the proposed date. OH is worried about handing in notice at his work. We can change tickets at a cost. (likely I would fly out on the normal date)

OH has applied for a partner visa has anyone heard them being very slow at processing?

Not really sure what I'm asking here. Maybe just a rant :)

I love a good rant about waiting for a VISA! I applied for a US immigrant one in Feb 2012. The whole process took about six months to complete. I booked my flight to the US for 9 August and had my final interview on 26 July. I then had to wait the standard 7-10 days for the package to arrive in the post. I spent days sat in the house too scared to go out in case I missed the courier! I nearly jumped on the guy when he delivered it! It was an agonising wait but the plan did come together in the end. Good luck I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :-)

I'm waiting for my partner visa for NZ.

My Dp flew out yesterday but due to finances the dc and I can't go until End of September/beginning of October.

We sent it off last Thursday, then it was bank holiday so that slowed things down, the money has gone out of the account today and if going by the way dp's went, I should have mine by this time next week.

Not that long really. (If it all goes the way I'm hoping)

When did he send his off?

Gosh that sounds quick Xminerva. Was it pre approved? Ours went in on the 22nd of March. We have paid for it already but just have to wait for it to be approved. I can't see it wont be approved I mean we are a couple. We could if needed have a financial sponsor.

Thanks for the luck dickie!

It's agonising. Each time we get an official looking letter through the door I jump a little just hoping:)

No not pre approved.

I've heard Australian visa do take a a lot longer than most others though.

Dp had his work visa back in a little over 2 weeks and that was with it going to a medical assessor.

I know what you mean about jumping a little when official looking post comes through the door. I hate Sundays because there's no post at all so no chance of it arriving.

Hope it comes soon.
