Hello,
this is my first post so hoping someone might be able to help.

We are considering a move to Cananda with 3 kids 12, 9 and 6.
They are up for it so we dont have worries in that area but we want to get information about the schooling and opportunitues for them once they leave school. They are very sporty and are keen to go to some sort of sporting college / uni - is that possible in Canada and where is the best place to find out info?

Are the schools really better than our ones here? I know its a generalisation but mine are sport daft and there is just not much sport at school.

Thanks
VM

Hi,
I am from Canada but live here now, but maybe I can be of some help.

Where are you thinking of living? Other than the west coast it really is cold for half of the year, and the main sports are snow and ice related. Vancouver is a mecca because it is the fittest city in the country and you can do just about any sport you can think of, there are even a couple of cricket clubs.

I don't know about the quality of schools (mine were very good but that was a long time ago!) but in high schools they still have great phys ed programs and extra-cirricular teams that compete regionally and provincially.

I have no idea what colleges have in the way of sport but most of the top universities have extensive sporting involvement (I went to UBC and sports was/still is a huge part of its draw for people).

Not a lot more to tell you so keep asking and trawl the internet too.

Best of luck.
