Anyone in Stockholm who can advise me on baby/maternity shopping?

I live in the Middle East, but we're having a week's holiday in Stockholm next month. I am so excited as I LOVE Sweden with a passion (used to live there as a kid).

I am 4 months pregnant and haven't been able to get many maternity clothes over here. So I am basically going to have to go shopping for some almost as soon as I step off the plane! I am getting big already as I'm expecting twins.

I was just wondering if some Stockholmers could point me in the direction of some nice shops and also maybe any inside info on any baby stuff which is good to buy in Sweden (e.g do they sell really cool pushchairs over there?). Also is there any equivalent of the Excess Baggage Company for exporting things? Our airline is very expensive for excess baggage.

I'm also going to England, so I dont need to do loads of shopping in Sweden, but if there are any must-haves over there, I would like to take the opportunity to buy them.

Many thanks :)

Polarn og Pyret :)

PoP is phasing out their maternity wear. You might find some good bargains, but perhaps not a huge range anymore

Take a look on the Polarn o Pyret website. They have fab baby & kids clothes. Many are unisex so great if it's early on and you don't know what you're having.

Not actually in S'holm myself so can't advise on any nice boutiques there.

No idea about transporting overseas.

Enjoy your trip!

Thanks all.

What are the H&Ms like in Stockholm for a selection of maternity wear? Is it quite a comprehensive selection (because if not, I will just order online like I was going to anyway)?

Also what are the department stores like NK etc like?

Any funky baby must haves which you can only buy in Sweden? My gut feeling is that they probably sell some pretty cool prams etc!

PS the baby clothes at PoP look gorgeous! I love Swedish kids' style.

Dunno on prams really. We bought a Dutch brand (easywalker) before we moved to Swe. Seems the usual brands here are MaxiCosi, Brio or Urban Jungle.

Larger H&M stores tend to have decent maternity stock.

Can't really help you on NK as we don't have one nearby so rarely go.
