Doable. Its hard to say though. What are your expectaTions? You planning to stay short term and travel a bit?
You planning a longer stay and having kids here?

Is this English teaching per chance? If so, yes it's a low wage, but they're paying you the market rate.

It's do-able but it'll be tight. My sister is an English teacher here- she makes HK$18,000 per month but sorts out her own accommodation as she prefers a studio on her own to shared housing which is what the language school was offering (remember that if that's the deal you wont get to decide who you share with and the turnover could be pretty high).

If you're happy using public transport (i.e. bus and MTR - taxis are cheap vs UK but they still add up) and shopping at local supermarkets (i.e. eat Chinese food and not western imports - a Muller Fruit Corner is $20, 200g cheddar is $60), not buying clothes, coffees etc. then you can do it, but you'll have to be quite careful about where you end up socialising, as eating/ drinking out can be very expensive.

Bottom line is, would you be prepared to live on that salary in London? If not, don't even think about trying it in HK.

You will have to pay a bit of tax but it'll be low- ask the employer to confirm.

tHIS OUTFIT ADVERTISING THE JOB IS FOR SHORT TERM FLITS i THINK tHEY SAY THEY WILL ORGANISE ANY CONTRACT LENGTH ETC IN VARIOUS COUNTRIES SO YOU WOULD JUST DO SAY A YEAR IN HK AND THEN MOVE ON SO YOU WOULD SEE A LOT OF PLACES iDEAL IF YOU JUST WANT TO TRAVEL AND COVER YOUR EXPENSES
