i know this is a really basic question but if you are in the US and you wanted to post a parcel or letter back to the UK, where do you take it to?

USPS (the post office)

Or you could take it to UPS/Fedex etc, ie the private companies, and they will ship it for you.

There are also some high street companies that will send stuff for you, if you can't get to a post office - they charge you more than the standard postage though. Or e.g. staples will fedex something.

Or you can buy postage online at usps.com and print out a mailing label, often.

you can check the cost online if you weight and measure your parcel. www.usps.com

You would do what you would do in the UK - go to the Post Office.
