Well, maybe I'll use this as a bit of a personal diary then... Trying to sort the house for renting, but storage and shipping not ready, too much stuff everywhere! Work getting in the way of getting stuff done. Kids not really helping much either...

No, have some support :) it's always a bit of a nightmare, make loads of lists of what needs to be done and then plod away at them methodically. Try to get the kids sent off to playdates etc so you can get some space to get on with it!

LoopyLoopsTootTootToots · 14/05/2012 16:57

Might have found tenants! That'll be a relief.

well its very likely dh has been offered a two year contract over there. still trying to bottom things out.

dreading telling my parents they wont see their grandchildren for two years :(

LoopyLoopsTootTootToots · 14/05/2012 21:10

They will, he'll surely get annual flights home if it's an expat package?

OP posts:
ScarlettAlexandra · 14/05/2012 21:44

we will be coming home, for christmas etc. they see them every week at the moment,

have to think of the bigger picture though. maybe we could meet for coffee while we are there.

LoopyLoopsTootTootToots · 14/05/2012 21:47

ILs and my mum were incredibly supportive, much more than we could have hoped. In fact, everyone has said something along the lines of "we'll mss you but you have to go for it".

How old are your DCs?

OP posts:
ScarlettAlexandra · 14/05/2012 22:15

8 months and 2 i told my parents, it will be six months and mom burst into tears.

everyone else we spoke to said go for it, the person i wanted support from hasnt given it.

LoopyLoopsTootTootToots · 14/05/2012 22:17

Your mum? She's just shocked. Give her a day or two and she'll be supportive, don't worry.

Hey this is your thread Loopy! If I remember rightly you've got a teaching job lined up. Have you got any idea of where you'll live? Have you had a look-see here in person?

LoopyLoopsTootTootToots · 15/05/2012 16:45

Not been for a look no. No idea where to live really as yet, but we have a month's accommodation organised for when we arrive. How's the weather over there? Grin

MarjorieAntrobus · 15/05/2012 16:57

Always hot, sometimes raining! :o

LoopyLoopsTootTootToots · 15/05/2012 17:14

Not to buy to let, but to allow it to be rented, yes. Was free and simple. :)

OP posts:
ScarlettAlexandra · 15/05/2012 18:37

thats good then, the woolwich made us swap ours over for our last home. how long are you planning to be there for?

LoopyLoopsTootTootToots · 15/05/2012 18:40

No idea, at least a couple of years. You?

OP posts:
ScarlettAlexandra · 15/05/2012 20:03

dh's contract is for two years only. so its pretty defined.with your teaching skills you should get a job no problem.

LoopyLoopsTootTootToots · 16/05/2012 00:25

I have one :)

Hello,
My in-laws lived in KL for 15 years so I've been there many times - it's an amazing place! Just a thought - it would be worth you joining the British Women's society there: www.abwm.com.my/ABWM_New/Home.html
They organise a great orientation of the city for newcomers and are generally a good support network so worth checking out...
Good luck with the move!

LoopyLoopsTootTootToots · 16/05/2012 07:33

Thank you :)

OP posts:
ScarlettAlexandra · 16/05/2012 07:56

LoopyLoopsTootTootToots · 16/05/2012 09:04
