Mythical migrant baggage allowance

Does anyone know if either Malaysia Airlines or Emirates give a higher baggage allowance on flights to KL for migrants? I have read that some airlines do if you have a permanent visa, not sure if this only applies to Australia.

Thanks :)

I've never heard of Migrants Allowance anywhere on Emirates, but their standard economy allowance is 30kg.

As Oldnewmummy said.

Anyway, your Employment Pass probably won't be sorted out till you arrive, will it? When DH went to KL his Employment Pass and Dependant's Passes (me and Dc) were sorted out by employer after our arrival.

Ah, that's a good point. I think they are processing the visa but I did read that it's normal to receive it once you arrive.

Thanks

Yes we got it with emirates migrating to australia! well my (ex)partner flew out in october 2008 to oz and got 50kg allowance,ha dto show scan of his PR visa to australia way before flight.

I wasnt allowed as i was leaving in november and staying at parents first in dubai until end of jan and emirates said it had to be direct, but i flew business class and had 42kg allowance anyway, as did my dd as she was 3 and had own seat and my mum and dad flew to oz business with us so used all thier allowances too lol

so you can but it needs to be direct flight, (obv re-fuelling stops fine) but no stopovers.
