Shipping UK to NZ - humidity

Just wondering about documents and other paper based stuff, do they ship okay? I've heard that some things can get ruined as the container travels through the equater / high humidity, has anyone had experience with this?

Also would it make sense to stock up on certain things that can be expensive in another country and include in the container, since we are paying for it anyhow? I was thinking about things like was clothes washing liquid that I can get from Costco way cheaper than it retails in NZ for.

All our paper work and books arrived in NZ in as good as condition as they left the UK. However, take all important paperwork like qualification certificates, birth certificates, insurance documents etc on the plane with you. You are likley to need them before your container arrives.

Things in NZ really aren't as expensive as some people make out. Don't bother with clothes washing liquid, they sell it here and you will again need it before the container arrives. I did stock up on my favourite moisturisers and perfume though .... well I had a vast amount of points on my Boots card and no way was I wasting them. Buy a few new pairs of shoes and a new hand bag or two though as they are both hugely more expensive here. Hugs stocking up really isn't necessary. M&S deliver clothes for £15 a time to NZ, Next and Boden deliver too. The book depository will become a firm friend if you read a lot of books too - free delivery to NZ

"huge" stocking up ... crap typing. Other than shoes and books things are pretty much comparable in price. TV's are way way cheaper!
