...could you let me know if your schools are on holiday at the beginning of June this year? We are booked to go to Centerparcs and wondered if it was going to be busy Smile?
Ta!

Well Belgian schools don't have a half term in the Summer term - we go straight through from Easter to June 30th with a few BH's in the middle.

I would imagine it is similar in Holland. You should be able to spot peak weeks/weekends as the price goes up.

BoogieKnights · 24/02/2012 09:36

Lovely, thank you Portofino. It is quite hard to tell with Centerparcs which are their peak weeks as you aren't able to compare dates very easily.

Out of interest, how do you find the no-half-term set up works?

It's not too bad usually - we have 3 BHs - May Day, Ascension and Pentecost so usually get the chance to have some long weekends depending on how they fall. Then the 9 week summer holiday! That takes some filling!

The only Belgian school holidays between monday 16th April and friday 29th June are :

tuesday 1st May (Worker's Day)
thursday 17th May (Ascension)
friday 18th May (extra day tagged to Ascension)
monday 28th May (Pentecost)

In the Netherlands :
28th April - 6th May
may also observe Ascension and Pentecost, not sure.

So no Belgian or Dutch schools are on holiday at the beginning of June.

Thanks so much both of you.
I hadn't realised how different the school holiday periods were to the UK. Two months in summer? Phew Grin

Boogienights, if you are looking at Centerparcs in Europe...... well check the prices on the European websites and look for reduction codes

Look also at similar sort of accommodation to Center parcs here ...
www.landal.nl/
check the offers in different languages as sometimes the offers only show in one language.

Portofino · 24/02/2012 22:33

Yes - I thought you were booked already - but definitely look at the others in the future. If you look at at www.landal.com, many of the parks have facilities similar to centerparcs and they are MUCH cheaper.

BoogieKnights · 24/02/2012 22:49

Thank you. I have looked at landal in the past, but we are a party of 10 and want 5 bedrooms and landal only do 10 in 4 beds which wouldn't work very well.

I am very interested in the european websites/reduction codes - could you PM me a link? I generally just go to centerparcs.com...are there alternatives?! Cheaper would be lovely Smile

Ooh the Landal place I go to most often sleeps up to 24 and has a few 12s

BoogieKnights · 24/02/2012 23:08

Ah! Maybe I haven't looked carefully enough? Very interesting... Smile

Boogienights, there are some 10 person bungalows are 4 beds and 2 people in lounge, some are 5 beds at Landal, depends on resort. If you can't get 10 in 5 beds at a particular resort, just search for 12 and you should get 5 beds.

"code promotionnel"
"code de reductions"
"bon de reduction"
French

"kortingscode"
Dutch

There is also Pierre et Vacances, Odalys, Goelia, CapFrance-vacances - all French companies which do holiday parks rather cheaply. I wouldn't limit myself to Centerparcs.
