February is a dull month. Anyone fancy meeting for a drink or lunch or dinner? Grin

Not a dull month for me...
DC2 due
DD's birthday

Most importantly MY BIRTHDAY

I don't think I'll be able to make it though - DH and I are planning on having one last night out in Paris in the next ten days together.

Does anyone know a good cinema (with comfy seats) where we can see The Artist, something a bit up-market if that exists?

Also does anyone know a good Japanese restuarant in Paris? We won't be going for ages, not until I am back at work. We have done Guilo Guilo in Montmartre and have been recommended Momoka, but other recommendations would be appreciated?

Sorry for the hijack - Enjoy your meet up.

Moi! Am around and alone during the first week of the school holidays and am busy planning my lovely free time, so yes, let's!

Bonsoir · 28/01/2012 07:20

The Artist seems mostly to be on in VF... presumably you want VO?

Nice Jap - try Le Bizan in rue Sainte-Anne

BriocheDoree · 28/01/2012 17:30

thought the artist was without dialogue? Presumably doesn't matter too much whoich cersion you see...
I am around, depending on when you want to meet.

MrsSchadenfreude · 28/01/2012 18:39

LOL at "nice Jap"!

There is a very good one near St Philippe du Roule (recommended by Japanese colleague) and another one that's not bad near Ternes.

Dates?

Maybe you should all meet up with the Belgian mumsnetter group, somewhere sort of half way like Lille!

MrsSchadenfreude · 28/01/2012 22:19

Oh yes, that would be fun, Natation! Especially as I used to live in Tervuren!

Bonsoir · 29/01/2012 09:13

natation Shock How much free time do you think we have for this meet-up lark?! Wink

Superspudable · 30/01/2012 10:52

Would love a paris meetup!

flyingcloud · 30/01/2012 12:59

Thanks for the recommendations.

Yes - there can't be VF/VOST of The Artist surely?!

Again, sigh, enjoy... I'll probably be in labour anyway while you're all sipping cocktails at The Bristol.

hattymattie · 02/02/2012 20:08

Keep me posted ladies - I have managed to offload two children during first week of holidays. I still have one but if she takes off with a friend I may be able to make a lunch.

MrsSchadenfreude · 17/02/2012 07:14

BUMP! Anyone up for a drink next week?

OP posts:
Bonsoir · 17/02/2012 10:36

unobtanium · 17/02/2012 10:48

I'm new on MN, not so new to France, live in the burbs... can I come?

Promise to hose off my wellies beforehand.

(Away from the 25th though... )

Superspudable · 17/02/2012 12:02

Oh no - I'm away until Friday 24th! Next time ladies!

BriocheDoree · 17/02/2012 12:40

could be, If I can get DH home at a reasonable hour to babysit Grin

unobtainium whereabouts do you live?

unobtanium · 17/02/2012 16:33

Brioche, I live in the muddiest part of Maisons-Laffitte.

BriocheDoree · 18/02/2012 07:19

Oh yes, the horsey bit?
I confess I also own wellies...I use them to walk through the forest to get to the bakery Blush

MrsSchadenfreude · 20/02/2012 07:34

Right, what night and where? Cannot do tonight, as am (unusually) already going out.

OP posts:
unobtanium · 20/02/2012 08:06

Walking through forest to bakery, that's new on me... to get your brioches, no doubt? Yes the horsey bit of ML... very "fragrant" in the summer, there's nothing quite like it (you have to love horses, and even then...).

Evenings getting booked as we speak. Not tonight for Schadenfreude, now I'm not avail Weds or Friday, quite unheard of but I am also galavanting those nights... so will happily join those of you who want to pronounce a time and place, and not to worry if you can't accommodate my schedule this time... (tho' of course it would be v nice to meet you.)

Bonsoir · 20/02/2012 10:23

Tuesday evening or Thursday evening fine by me! In the Royal Monceau?

MrsSchadenfreude · 21/02/2012 16:06

Thursday sounds good. Is the Royal Monceau the one on Hoche?

OP posts:
Bonsoir · 21/02/2012 19:24

Yes, it is. Any time is good for me.

MrsSchadenfreude · 21/02/2012 20:21

Just us two? Grin

Fine by me. Around 9? Could probably do 0830 if that's better.

OP posts:
unobtanium · 22/02/2012 07:57

Uh-oh, my Weds just got changed to Thurs so am not free after all (it's a final gathering for a friend moving to Mexico so can't change it). Another time... sniff
